I was lying in the afternoon on my couch, watching a video lecture from chesslecture.com, dozing off into a hypnagogic state where dreams start to occer, holding my pencil up so it was superimposed on the board, realized it looked like an anaconda on the board and laughed and drew:

As we all know, addictions are a bad thing. Especially when that addiction is to playing blitz chess on ICC. Breaking it may be the only way forward for those poor ones among us!

Quitting ICC

This is the White King preaching to his followers in the white area of the board. The sequel to the Black Army team-meeting! A girl later commented that it looks like I've drawn genetalia on the King, which was unintentional but still a hilarious subliminal message, could be a reference to the many sexual scandales the church has been involved with? I'm sorry, I've ruined the cartoon for you now.

Chess Bible

I nearly choked on my laughter doing this one, mainly because I was trying to explain the concept to a nonchessplaying friend while drawing it at school. I didn't succeed, but I'll try again: the Black King is giving a peptalk to his army before going into war, kinda like the football teams stand in a circle with arms across eachother's shoulders to hear the strategy before the game begins..

So, I was sitting keeping an eye on the discussions at ICC, when someone complained about not know how to adjust the playing strength of Rybka. He kept referring to the chess program as 'her', so I asked what Rybka might look like. Well, the most popular suggestion was a blond, large-breasted mermaid with a moustache and a fish head.. I edited that out and came up with this. Unfortunally the discussion was stopped because "the comments must be kept to serious chess matters" according to clever people (haha), but by then I thought I knew what Rybka might look like!

Rybka

The Nimzo-Bird opening, with a classic cheeky Bishop. Don't mind the Rook on g1, I had just returned to chess when I drew this (5/9 07), haha. I only now realized that it belongs in this section:
