This game position is from analysis during Dortmund where dear Ronen messed up his arrows. :) According to GMs: "strategy of a crow? thats what we usually say if we try to make fun of someones strategy". No offense inteded to Har-Zvi, this crow position is obviously an exception to what's otherwise hours and hours of amazing analysis!

In Japanese, tesuji means dominated and is a term originally gotten from another boardgame, shogi. Now it's used for the taking away of squares for Knights. They look so miserable when they haven't got anywhere to go, don't they? This piece has three titles, by the way: drawing (<- for the dumb audience who should then know and be suure its drawing and not something else), cartoon (for the ones who are lill bit smarter and should realise its drawing but infact cartoon drawing) and Mortal Combat, for the macho personalities out there.

A note on the position from a friend:

"it also shows one of my favorite endgame themes (the king 3 squares away from the knight). it never fails to amaze me how helpless the knight is when it's 3 squares away like that. you can give it several moves in a row and it still can't get near the pawn without hanging itself, which just seems like it shouldn't be possible somehow :)".

This priceless gem of a comment was heard on ICC just as White queened and Black flagged. The game was between Nakamura and some chanceless guy, reminding me of a ragdoll trapped between the jaws of a hound.

Polygamy

A position from a game between Morozevich (Black) and Timofeev (White). The game was eventually decided as a draw, but the players took some time harrassing eachother's Kings first, making some people wonder if there was bad blood between the players, LOL. Here the Queens are lurking for the men:

The Rooks are so sweet: never keep them unconnected, because, like long lost lovers, the only thing they want is eachother.
